The Lighter Side of Spirituality
Copyright 1996
This book is intended to help you see the "lighter" side of what we now call spirituality. Although there have been many books written on similar subjects, it is my belief and experience that there is never two experiences that are the same. They may appear to be the same, but a deeper look will prove that each one is very different and unique in its own way.
Chapter 1
...........Shortly after the last vision, my mother called and told me the news that it wouldn't be much longer. I made the trip to go see her one last time. We spent four short hours together talking, hugging, and laughing. When it was time for me to leave, I hugged her tightly while whispering to her, "I'm going to miss you so very much! I love you grandma!" She replied that she would miss me too but added something that she's always said before, but this time it took on a whole new meaning. She said, "You can still come see me sometime." This was a major turning point in my life. It was the beginning of the understanding that dying doesn't mean ending. The relationship still grows, just in a slightly different way. Instead of jumping in a car to go see her, I would have to hop on a cloud instead. Actually in a material world, that's more appealing, in the fact that I'll save a lot of money on gas!
Chapter 2
.............In a busy world such as we live in, a fast paced life is nothing out of the normal. It becomes sadly too easy to loose sight of the things that are important as well as to loose sight of ourselves. Without even realizing it, we become weak in areas that should be kept strong at all times - Faith! Our faith is our weapon to battle or learn the hard times as well as the good times. It amazes me when we seem to have strength in faith when everything in our life is going the way we want it too. But when things present somewhat of a struggle, we view our faith as almost nonexistent. And then question why and where it is. To truly have faith is to have complete trust at all times.
Chapter 3
............."People don't realize that they have to promote themselves in life. Very few do this. It's okay to self promote. It's okay to say you're good at what you do even though society says it's egotistical. You will succeed in life as long as you know who you truly are. It doesn't matter where you are as long as you know who you are!"
Chapter 4
I have learned that sitting and waiting will leave you sitting for a very long time. Whether we admit it to ourselves or not, most of us just 'wish' and wonder why this is happening or not happening. Such a simple solution starring right at us and yet, it's invisible. To simply expect things to happen is so "human" that we forget that we are not just human! We are spirits that have more power than our human minds can comprehend...................
Chapter 5
Another way of "cleaning up" is through healing. There are many ways to heal and many parts of us that need to be healed. But we can't just heal what is seen. What is seen may not be the root of the problem. As the Angel said, "we have to go deep within, pull the weeds by the root to allow our garden to flourish." To be able to heal from deep within, we also have to be willing to see what it is that we sometimes refuse to see................
Chapter 6
If you're anything like me, once you've found the answer, that "long waited for answer", you immediately want to begin! The excitement is building, this new light has appeared with the promise that everything will not only be okay, but much better than you ever imagined! The child inside has been awakened now screaming at you with enthusiasm, "Oh Boy! Let's play!" And you're ready, you are so ready and excited beyond belief, but as you desperately search for the place to begin, you realize, with a deep sigh, that you really don't know how to begin or where to begin..............
Chapter 7
..........It was sunset and I was riding a white sattled horse across hills with no tress. It appeared to be New Mexico. I came to a cliff edge to where there was a canyon and a VERY deep one at that! I came almost to the edge and got off the horse. The horse stayed calmly where I had left her and began grazing. I walked to the very edge and looked down and across where I could see for miles. I felt very serene and peaceful. Then I looked down once again into the canyon and with one deep breath, jumped. As I was falling down and down, I spread my arms out as if I was going to fly but in an instant from below came a horse, white and flying. She came up underneath me and it seemed to be perfect as I landed on her back. We flew up and up into the sky which was completely dark now but lit up with millions and millions of stars sparkling so bright and clear. The moon was full and as we flew up, I raised my arms out .................
Chapter 8
..........We seem to enter different stages in life. Swirling from one to another, like a funnel leading us from one level to the next. A doorway opens revealing a new world, but only when it's time and when we are ready. This is the way that I picture it in my mind. Maybe the only way my mind can explain such events that really have no explanation nor do they need one. When that doorway opens and we enter, we leave the old ways and lessons where they should be. We should carry with us the knowledge as well as the experiences instead. But, the newness is sometimes overwhelming and we tend to try to drag the other worlds with us, struggling and not understanding that sometimes they don't belong together in the same space...........
